The Pioneer Heights project Phases II & III, designed by GKKWorks, consisted of two, four-story residential buildings, dining commons, and a support facility totaling 154,800 gross square feet. The project added 64 units of three and four double-occupancy rooms, with 472 beds for incoming freshman students. The buildings are wood-frame construction with concrete slab foundations, and exterior finishes are cement plaster with an accent band of cedar wood between floors. The project design provides greater density than Phase II housing, thereby reducing its footprint and increasing open space and minimizing construction impacts.
Signet provided special inspection and materials testing services including reinforcing steel placement, structural concrete, miscellaneous steel, shearwall/diaphragm nailing, structural masonry, structural steel, and bolting.
