A new medical center campus consisting of a 637,000-square-foot, 150-bed state-of-the-art medical facility was completed by HMH Builders. It includes a 340,000-square-foot hospital and a 297,000-square-foot medical office building. The hospital is structured into two separate four-level nursing towers which are connected by a four-level diagnostic and treatment section of the hospital, of which one level is below grade. In addition to medical-surgical and intensive care unit beds, the hospital has prenatal services, including eight delivery rooms. Work also included an emergency department and full imaging services with CT scanner, nuclear medicine and MRI. This medical center has 12 operating rooms – six in-patients and six in the ambulatory surgery center – within the medical office building. A new Central Utility Plant provides heating and cooling to the new facilities, and has been sized to accommodate future expansion.
Signet provided special inspection and materials testing services including soils, asphalt, reinforced concrete, drilled in anchors, shotcrete, masonry, structural steel, welding, metal decking, fireproofing and NDT testing.
