Three (3) construction contracts with make up this Alternative Intake project:
- The new Victoria Canal Intake and Pump Station which included construction of a new 250 cubic foot per second station complete with removable fish screens and a cleaning mechanism.
- The construction of a new setback levee and embankment for the new Victoria Canal Intake and Pump Station.
- An electrical substation, motor control center and surge protection facility.
Approximately 12,150 linear feet of 72 inch diameter pipeline across Victoria Island from the tie-in point to the new intake and pump station and micro-tunneling under Old River with a 96-inch diameter casing are highlights of the conveyance pipeline and micro-tunnel contract.
Signet provided construction materials sampling and testing services for all earthwork, including field compaction, masonry, grout, soils, concrete and steel.
