The I-280/I-880/Stevens Creek Blvd project began construction in late Fall 2012 and was completed in Spring 2015, and was designed to improve safety and traffic flow on the freeways and local roadways. This project included modifications to the freeway-to-freeway intersection of State Route 17 (SR-17)/I-280/I-880 freeway interchange, constructing a new direct connector from northbound I-280 to northbound I-880, and a direct off-ramp to Monroe Street from southbound I-880. The I-280/I-880/Stevens Creek project was a Public/Civic Project of the Year finalist for the Silicon Valley Business Journal; and spans multiple public agencies including the City of San Jose, Caltrans, and VTA.
Signet provided special inspection and materials testing services for the project encompassing soils AGG/AC lab testing, field compaction, AC observation, batch plant inspection, materials sampling, pile/pier observations, concrete, masonry, shotcrete, rebar/strand id sampling and tagging, and staff engineering services.
